Legal
Terms & Conditions
The terms on which you use this website and send us an application or enquiry — including what happens to the ideas you share with us, and what we will and will not do with them.
Last updated 18 September 2026
This document is in final review. Our registered company details are being confirmed against the trade licence, and are marked below wherever they appear. Everything else here is current and describes what we actually do with your information. Questions in the meantime: privacy@bedayat.ae.
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of this website (the “Site”) and any application or enquiry you send through it. By using the Site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.
The Site is operated by [Registered legal name — to be confirmed] (“Bedayat”, “we”, “us”), registered in the United Arab Emirates under licence number [Licence number — to be confirmed], of [Registered address — to be confirmed].
Separate terms apply once you are accepted onto a programme. Those are agreed with you in writing and take precedence over these if the two ever conflict.
2. Who may use the Site
You must be at least 18. If you apply on behalf of a company, university, government entity or other organisation, you confirm you are authorised to do so and that it is bound by these terms.
3. Applications and enquiries
- Sending an application or enquiry creates no contract between us and does not oblige us to admit you to anything.
- We may accept or decline any application at our sole discretion, and we are not obliged to give reasons.
- What you tell us must be accurate, complete and not misleading. We may reject or withdraw an application, and end any place that came from it, if something you told us was materially wrong.
- Programme details, dates, eligibility and deadlines can change — including the Climate Response Sprint 2026 deadline of 5 October 2026. We publish changes here.
- We may close applications early, extend a deadline, or cancel a programme before it starts.
- Our programmes are free, and we take no equity in any participant. There are no application, placement or success fees.
- Investor introductions. We may introduce you to investors. That is facilitation and nothing more: whether to engage is your decision, any negotiation is between you and them, and any agreement that results is yours and theirs alone. We are not a party to it, we take no commission or finder’s fee, and we give no advice, recommendation or assurance about any investor — or about you to any investor.
4. Eligibility declarations
Where a programme asks you to confirm you are eligible — for example that the Climate Response Sprint is open only to established, market-ready solutions with demonstrated traction — that confirmation is a representation you make to us. We may check it, and may withdraw your application if it turns out not to be true.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit false, misleading, unlawful, defamatory or infringing content;
- submit anyone else’s personal data without their knowledge and permission;
- upload malware, or try to probe, scan, overload or gain unauthorised access to the Site or its systems;
- get around or interfere with our anti-bot protection or rate limits;
- scrape, harvest or automate access to the Site without our written consent;
- use the Site in breach of any applicable law.
We may suspend or block access for anyone who breaches this section.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the Site available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend, withdraw or restrict any part of it for business or operational reasons, without notice and without liability.
7. Intellectual property
7.1 Our content
The Site and everything on it — text, design, graphics, the Bedayat name and logo, and the names and logos of SEE Holding and The Sustainable City — belong to us or our licensors and are protected by UAE and international intellectual property law. You may view and print pages for your own non-commercial reference; anything else needs our written permission. Third-party logos shown here, including those of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and our programme partners, remain their owners’ property.
7.2 Your content
You keep all intellectual property rights in the information, materials and ideas you send us. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, copy and share that material internally and with the programme partner named in our Privacy Policy, solely to evaluate your application and, if you are accepted, run the programme. We claim no other rights, and nothing you send transfers ownership of anything to us.
We do not take a marketing licence. We will not use your name, your logo or a description of your solution in our own promotional material unless we ask you and you agree in writing at the time.
7.3 Research on anonymised data
Separately from that licence, we analyse what we learn from applications to understand the sustainability start-up ecosystem and report on our impact. That analysis is quantitative and anonymous: information is aggregated into counts and statistics, with names, contact details and other identifying details removed first. We do not produce research that identifies an individual applicant or venture. Those aggregated statistics are ours and we may publish them. Our Privacy Policy explains this at §4.
7.4 Your warranty
You confirm that you own or are licensed to send us everything you send, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
8. Confidentiality
We treat what you send as confidential and share it only as described in our Privacy Policy. That said, please do not send us trade secrets, unpublished patentable inventions, or anything else whose disclosure would harm you. Describe your solution in the detail needed to assess it, and no more.
We do not sign non-disclosure agreements with applicants. We accept no confidentiality obligation beyond what is written here, and we remain free to work with, fund or run programmes for businesses that compete with yours or that independently arrive at similar ideas. If your solution depends on information you cannot share on those terms, please protect it before applying — by filing first, for instance — rather than relying on this section.
9. Third-party links and embeds
We link to other websites and embed third-party content, including a Google Maps frame and links to LinkedIn and YouTube. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices; your use of them is governed by their own terms.
10. Downloadable material
Brochures and other documents here are for information only. They can be superseded; where one disagrees with the terms published on the Site, the Site prevails.
11. Disclaimers
The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties, express or implied. Nothing here is legal, financial, investment or tax advice, and nothing here is an offer of investment or an invitation to invest.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent UAE law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, opportunity, anticipated savings or data, arising from your use of the Site or from sending us an application.
Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of §5 (Acceptable use) or §7.4 (Your warranty).
14. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these terms.
15. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms by posting the amended version here with a new “last updated” date. The version in force when you submit an application governs that application.
16. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and the [Competent courts — to be confirmed] have exclusive jurisdiction.
We accept applications from anywhere in the world. Nothing in this section takes away a protection given to you by the mandatory law of your own country that cannot be contracted out of.
17. General
If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stay in force. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any programme agreement, are the whole agreement between us about the Site.
